After seeing the Stuyck family over the summer, Maggie never stopped talking about her friend Pia and when we would see her again. We figured, what better time to head to Miami than in the middle of winter here in Boston!
We arrived on the last Thursday in January and was able to meet up with my old colleague Harry in Ft Lauderdale. Despite the rainy weather, we managed to grab lunch by the ocean and had some time catching up. After lunch, Harry drove us to Coconut Grove to start the weekend with the Stuycks.
Maggie and Pia slipped right back into their BFF ways – again, you would have thought they had spent a huge amount of time together previously, not 36 hours! We unfortunately didn’t have great weather the first few days so spent time hanging around the house, visited the local Children’s Museum, explored their neighborhood, and as always with toddlers, got in some park time. On Saturday we finally made it to the beach, and while it wasn’t swimming weather, the sun and sand was all we needed to feel like we were on holiday!
The trip, as most, was too short, and we can’t wait to see Pia, Rafa, Chrissy, and Jaime again – most likely it’ll be after our new addition arrives so Pia will be able to impart all her big sister wisdom on Maggie!
